Dr. Li has more than 15 years’ research experience in nanomaterials. especially carbon materials. He is also one of the pioneer researchers who realized the opportunities in biomass as feedstock for nanostructured carbon materials. He has co-invented a serial of carbon electrode materials derived from biomass. Some of these technologies are under commercialization development. Zhi also holds an MS in Engineering and Technology Management, specialized in Strategy and Innovation. He is passionate about both the development and commercialization of nanotechnologies as solutions to the energy crisis and climate change.
Dr. Naicker has led research and development operations in various Pharmaceutical companies in Edmonton, helping to oversee the companies’ growth from a tiny start-up to the approval of the drug by FDA and Health Canada. He is the discoverer of the drug called Voclosporin developed for treating transplant patients to avoid rejection and for the treatment of other auto immune diseases such as Uveitis and psoriasis. Dr. Naicker has published more than 50 articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He authored more than 100 patents. He received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1979 and a member of various scientific societies. He has worked as Vice-President for Drug development in Isotechnika Inc. and also as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-President for drug development in Quest Pharmatech Inc. Edmonton.
Dr. Ma has more than 30 years’ research experience in organometallic, inorganic chemistry, homogeneous catalysis and nanomaterials, especially superhydrophobic carbon and metal oxide based materials as separation membrane application in oil/water separation and oil-spilled recovery. He has co-invented a glass coat nanomaterials as solar heat blocker that can apply as energy efficient window coat materials to deal with the issue of global warming. Guibin also holds a PhD and have served in academic and industrious R&D for more than 20 years and as author, co-author and corresponding author, has published more than 100 papers, three patents in US, Canada and China.
